Welcome to the EAST Geospatial Virtual Camp.

     This virtual camp takes the place of traditional GIS/GPS training classes, where the instructor stood in front of the class and told you what button to push and what to type in the dialog boxes. We believe that you, as students, are better served by allowing you to explore GIS and GPS software at your own pace, whether it be fast or slow, and by allowing you to review material as much as you want to learn everything you need. This site also includes self-assessment modules, so that you can be confident in knowing what you have learned.

     The Camp currently offers introductory courses in using Intergraph's GeoMedia Professional GIS software and Trimble's GeoExplorer and GeoCE series of GPS receivers. We will be adding some more advanced, task-based courses very soon.

     Like most Web sites, the EAST Geospatial Virtual Camp will be constantly evolving. Please feel free to send us feedback, both positive and negative, so that we can make this a better experience for all users.
