Meet Your CAST Support Team
Malcolm Williamson: I have been supporting EAST students using GIS and GPS since way back in 1997, and I lead our EAST support team. I really enjoy solving problems through the use of GIS and other computer tools, as well as building 3-D visualizations in GIS environments. In my spare time, I like to windsurf, sail, and "play" with cars. The best part of my job is seeing EAST students learn, grow, and turn into the kind of folks that I know will make our world a better place.
Angelia Payne: In the fall of 2004 I became part of the EAST support team offering trainings in animation, web design and geospatial technologies. I like EAST because it encourages students to explore themselves by using the latest technologies and by getting involved in their communities.
Ben Gilley: I started working fulltime with EAST in August 2006 after receiving my undergraduate from the U of A - Fayetteville. I was among the first students enrolled in EAST after it expanded in 1997. I’ve used the geospatial skills I learned in EAST to get jobs with government agencies and a private company. I’ve always enjoyed working with GIS because it is an engaging and illustrative discipline that is limited only by the questions you ask.
Adam Barnes: After receiving my graduate degree in the spring of 2006, I became a member of the EAST geospatial support team at CAST. I like working with EAST because I believe it gives students an opportunity to gain experience in advanced technologies while challenging them to learn things on their own.
Chris Angel: I graduated from Arkansas Tech with a degree in History - Secondary
Education. After taking a few Geography courses, I discovered GIS and
decided to pursue a Master's Degree in Geography here at the U of A. I
also have extensive experience in Web Design using Macromedia
Dreamweaver / Fireworks and will be instructing the Breeze-based
trainings. Project-based learning is the new direction of
Secondary Education and I am proud to be apart of one of its pioneer
programs.
